Our History
Our History

Co-operatives have a long history of serving members in Western Canada. In the early 20th century, people worked together to create retail co-operatives in many towns in the four western Canadian provinces (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia). The Meadow Lake Co-op was established March 2nd, 1945 with the opening of our first location, located on First Street East. Meadow Lake is a community of just over 6000 people in northwest Saskatchewan, serving a trading area of 35000 people.
