The Grand Opening for our new Goodsoil Co-op store was held on August 19. The event started at 9am with welcome speeches and followed by the official ribbon cutting. Mrs. Sopracolle, a long time resident of Goodsoil whose husband was one of the original Goodsoil Co-op directors, cut the ribbon. She was so excited to be able to cut the ribbon and be part of the Grand Opening. After the ceremony cake was served and a BBQ was held with the proceeds going to the local school’s travel club. Many, many in-store specials were available and the first 50 customers through the doors received a Co-op gift bag full of Co-op goodies.
This new “hybrid” store is 8,960 square feet. And replaces the second store that was built on the property in 1962. The new store offers: Food, Hardware, Camping, Fishing, Ag, Feed, Fuel, Propane, and C-store items.
